Balance transfers

Interest-free balance transfers for 23 months

With the HSBC Bank Credit Card new cardholders get interest free balance transfers for 23 months. A 3.3% balance transfer fee (minimum £5) applies.

our 17.9% rate p.a. for new purchases gives a representative rate of 17.9% APR variable.

Requests for a Balance Transfer received by us after 3.30 pm (or received on a non-working day) will be treated as if they were received the next working day. It can take up to 3 working days, from the day of receipt by HSBC, for the money to reach your other credit or store card provider, written requests can take up to 4 working days. Once your balance transfer is processed, it cannot be reversed.

At the end of the 23 months promotional period Balance Transfers will revert to the standard variable rate - representative 17.9% APR variable.

How to transfer your balance

If you're already an Internet Banking customer, log on and select 'Balance transfers' from the left hand menu when you're viewing your credit card details.

Please note balances can't be transferred from cards issued by other members of the HSBC Group including first direct, Marks and Spencer, and John Lewis Partnership Card.

The introductory offer is only available to new HSBC Bank Credit Card customers who hold an HSBC current account, and doesn't apply to the Student Credit Card or HSBC Premier Credit Card.

This offer excludes people who don't hold an HSBC current account, existing HSBC Bank Credit Card customers or those who closed their HSBC Bank Credit Card within the last 6 months.

At the end of the 3-month promotional period purchases will revert to the standard variable rate - representative 17.9% APR variable. The promotional rate does not apply to cash advances or transactions treated as such under these terms. Further conditions apply.
