Eligibility requirements
Existing customers:
If you'd like to open an HSBC Advance Bank Account please ensure you can answer YES to the following questions:
- Are you under 69 years of age when you open your HSBC Advance Bank Account and under 70 when your trip starts?
- Have you been a resident of the UK, Channel Islands or the Isle of Man for at least six months at the time of opening your account or on the date your trip starts?
- Are you registered with a doctor in the UK, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man and liable to pay local taxes?
- Are you going to start and finish your trip in the UK, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man?
- Are any unmarried dependent children aged under 18 at the start of the trip or under 23 if they are in full-time education and live with you outside term time? (Children will only be covered when travelling with the account holder or their domestic partner, or whilst travelling abroad on their own to visit and stay with close relatives for the duration of the trip.)
You will need to call the HSBC Medical Assessment Helpline on 01243 218 426 to declare any pre-existing medical conditions suffered by you, or your domestic partner or any dependent children insured by the policy at the time of opening your HSBC Advance Bank Account and before booking your trip. You must also declare any medical conditions suffered by anyone upon whose health may cause you to cancel/affect your travel plans, such as a close relative or travelling companion.
Pre-existing medical conditions are not covered at any time under this policy unless they have been disclosed to and accepted by the
HSBC Medical Assessment Team.
New to HSBC:

- Are you happy for us to undertake a credit register search and credit scoring?
- Can you provide us with identification and proof of your address and one month's bank statements from your current bank?
- Are you under 70 years of age when your trip starts?
