We’ve been a Patron of the world’s oldest major golf championship since 2011.

In July 2022, the historic links of The Old Course at St Andrews will host the 150th Open, where some of the world’s best male golfers will compete to win the famous Claret Jug.

In celebration of the 150th anniversary, spectators of all ages and abilities can experience golf through the ages in the HSBC Golf Zone. HSBC customers can also visit the HSBC Clubhouse to take a break from the live action and recharge with some refreshments.

We’re proud to be an official Patron of The AIG Women’s Open.

First played in York in 1976, The AIG Women’s Open has since grown to become one of the most prestigious majors in the golfing calendar, with many world-class golfers playing at some of the UK’s most iconic golf courses.

Alongside our major golf sponsorships, HSBC Golf Roots aims to open up a world of opportunity by supporting youth, community and grassroots initiatives. In the UK, we're working with The Golf Foundation's national development programme, which promotes golf in schools, helps youngsters into clubs and uses golf to promote important life skills.
