HSBC Online Banking activation
We're currently making improvements to our Online Banking service.
If you registered for Online Banking prior to the 17th December 2014 it's not possible for you to activate your existing Secure Key and you will need to re-start your registration.
If you registered for Online Banking after this date, please log on to Online Banking entering your username, memorable answer and your password, from here you will be prompted to activate your Secure Key.
We apologise for any inconvenience which this delay may cause. Once you are registered, we look forward to introducing you to Online Banking, including the exciting enhancements we're working on now.
A simple way to keep an eye on your finances without even having to think about it. This is a free service for all eligible current account customers.
- Receive text alerts when your balance has reached a specific level.
- Receive text alerts when a lump sum (minimum £25) has been deposited in or withdrawn from your account.
- Choose to receive weekly or monthly mini-statements on the day of your choice.
- Show your balance and up to five recent transactions, on up to three current and/or credit card accounts.
Register for Text Alerts
Already registered to Online banking? Log in and follow the on-screen instructions. Once you are signed up for text alerts, a text confirmation will be sent to your registered mobile phone.
If you haven't yet registered for Online Banking, simply click on the link below and follow the on-screen instructions.
You can change, temporarily suspend or cancel your alerts at any time either by calling us on 03457 404 404 (before 10pm for changes to be effective for the next working day) or by writing to us at

Suspending alerts will prevent you from incurring additional charges while abroad.
