We're currently making improvements to our Online Banking service.

If you registered for Online Banking prior to the 17th December 2014 it's not possible for you to activate your existing Secure Key and you will need to re-start your registration.

If you registered for Online Banking after this date, please log on to Online Banking entering your username, memorable answer and your password, from here you will be prompted to activate your Secure Key.

We apologise for any inconvenience which this delay may cause. Once you are registered, we look forward to introducing you to Online Banking, including the exciting enhancements we're working on now.

Overview

Both CQS accredited solicitor firms and licensed conveyancer firms can normally act for both you and HSBC.

You will need to agree terms with your chosen firm. They may offer fixed or variable legal fees and other features.

You can find out details of the firms by visiting: the Law Society website for solicitor firms or the Council for Licensed Conveyancers website for licensed conveyancer firms.

Their quoted fee will usually include the cost of them acting for HSBC and you, but you should check.

CQS accredited solicitor firms have achieved accreditation under the Law Society's Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS). All licensed conveyancers are regulated by the Council for Licensed Conveyancers.

Once you're ready to apply

Advise your Mortgage and Protection Manager or Mortgage Advisor of your choice of firm to represent you.

You will need to provide us with the name, address and telephone number of your chosen firm.

We will let you know if we identify that your chosen firm is not currently able to act for HSBC so that you can reconsider your choice.
