HSBC Online Banking activation

We're currently making improvements to our Online Banking service.

If you registered for Online Banking prior to the 17th December 2014 it's not possible for you to activate your existing Secure Key and you will need to re-start your registration.

If you registered for Online Banking after this date, please log on to Online Banking entering your username, memorable answer and your password, from here you will be prompted to activate your Secure Key.

We apologise for any inconvenience which this delay may cause. Once you are registered, we look forward to introducing you to Online Banking, including the exciting enhancements we're working on now.

Overview

Selected solicitor and licensed conveyancer firms that are able to act for both you and HSBC.

These firms all have the same terms:

  • fixed legal fees
  • no legal fee charged if your purchase does not proceed due to the seller withdrawing
  • enable you to track your case on-line.

All English and Welsh solicitor firms on the panel are accredited under the Law Society's Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS)* or awaiting confirmation. All licensed conveyancer's are regulated by the Council for Licensed Conveyancers.

Countrywide Conveyancing Services manage the panel for HSBC and monitor to check your case is progressing.

If you use one of these panel firms, HSBC will instruct the same firm to represent it. The firms' fixed fee includes the cost of them acting for HSBC and the conventional work carried out on a purchase case. Please ask us for the fixed fee payable for the home you wish to buy.

Once you're ready to apply

Each property is different. You can obtain a quotation for the legal work, including searches, etc, on your chosen property by calling Countrywide Conveyancing Services on 0161 3334605^.

Advise your Mortgage and Protection Manager or Mortgage Advisor that you would like to use a Managed Panel firm.

Countrywide Conveyancing Services will select and introduce you to a solicitor or licensed conveyancer firm who will call you within 2 working days to confirm you want to instruct them and if you do, will send you a welcome pack outlining the next steps.

Things to consider

Other costs such as the cost of searches, Land Registration fees, Stamp Duty Land Tax and any special reports will normally be payable by you in addition to any quoted legal fee. Please ask your conveyancer or solicitor for details when you instruct them to act for you.

* CQS Accredited Solicitor Firm: This firm has been assessed by the Law Society of England and Wales as meeting the required standards to be accredited to their Conveyancing Quality Scheme.
