To be eligible for HSBC Expat you need to hold a minimum amount of £60,000 or currency equivalent in deposits and/or investments with HSBC Expat.
The minimum opening balance for an HSBC Expat Bank Account is: £5,000, $10,000 or €10,000 – and this counts towards your total balance.
If you are already an HSBC Premier customer, then you are not required to maintain a minimum balance of £60,000.
