Important documents and information

Before you submit your application, please read the following documents and information:

Account closure information

For deposits under £50,000, you can withdraw all of the funds and close the account early for a fee of 90 days interest. Depending on when the withdrawal is made you may get back less than you originally invested. For deposits of £50,000 and above, you cannot close your account or withdraw any funds before the end of the term.

Credit reference agencies (CRAs) and your personal information

We may search and share your personal information (for example name, address, date of birth, details of any shared credit, and financial history) and that of your financial associates, with credit reference agencies to process your application, verify your identity and assess your suitability for an account or product. We may also search the Electoral Register and other public sources. If you are providing information about others, it is important that you tell them about this and that they know that a search may be carried out on them.

In order to assess your application and arrive at a decision, we may perform a credit reference agency search; this will not be visible to other providers and is known as an unrecorded entry search. This will take into consideration three areas; information you provide today, information we already hold about you and information we obtain from external credit reference agencies.

Fraud prevention information

The personal information we have collected from you will be shared with fraud prevention agencies who will use it to prevent fraud and money-laundering and to verify your identity. If fraud is detected, you could be refused certain services, finance or employment.

For more information on credit scoring, and how we, CRAs and fraud prevention agencies may use your information for these purposes and your data privacy rights, see our Guide to Credit Scoring, Credit Reference and Fraud Prevention Agencies (PDF, 165KB). opens in a new window
