Eligibility requirements
To be eligible for an HSBC Student Bank Account and an HSBC Student Credit Card, please ensure you can answer YES to the following questions:
- Are you 18 or over?
- Have you been a resident in the UK, Channel Islands or Isle of Man for at least three years?
- If you don't currently have an HSBC Current Account, can you provide us with identification and proof of your address
- Can you confirm that you do not hold a student account elsewhere?
- Are you studying, or intending to study, a qualifying undergraduate course of two years or more at a UK, Channel Islands or Isle of Man university/college or a part-time course with a Disability Student Allowance? And can you provide proof of your acceptance e.g.
UCAS letter or letter from the university/college?
Once you've submitted your application, we'll send you the paperwork to sign and return to us either by post or in branch.
We may also ask for further documents to confirm your identity or address.
Please note, you’ll only be eligible for the full range of Student Bank Account benefits once you provide us with your acceptance letter from a qualifying course.
