HSBC Online Banking activation

We're currently making improvements to our Online Banking service.

If you registered for Online Banking prior to the 17th December 2014 it's not possible for you to activate your existing Secure Key and you will need to re-start your registration.

If you registered for Online Banking after this date, please log on to Online Banking entering your username, memorable answer and your password, from here you will be prompted to activate your Secure Key.

We apologise for any inconvenience which this delay may cause. Once you are registered, we look forward to introducing you to Online Banking, including the exciting enhancements we're working on now.

Important notes

  • You can place orders 24/7 online but you can only arrange to have your currency delivered Monday to Friday excluding public holidays. A £3.95 delivery charge applies to orders under £250 placed for Home Delivery. Delivery to certain remote parts of the UK may take up to 3 working days
  • All Travel Money orders must have a minimum value of £100
  • For online orders you must pay using your UK issued First Direct, HSBC or M&S Bank debit or credit card. You may be charged a cash advance fee. This will depend on the card's terms and conditions and you should refer to them for details
  • For orders placed on the phone, the payment will be deducted direct from your HSBC or first direct account
  • For orders placed in branch, you can either have the payment deducted direct from your HSBC or first direct account or you can pay using your UK issued HSBC, first direct or M&S Bank debit or credit card
  • Travel money is provided in association with Travelex Currency Services Ltd. The service is only available to HSBC, first direct or M&S Bank customers and is only available to residents of the UK and Channel Islands
