Easy account opening
No need for a permanent UK address - and you can apply for an HSBC Passport Bank Account before you leave home.
HSBC Passport has an initial fixed term of 6 months and is renewable monthly afterwards.
You can cancel HSBC Passport either: if you apply for HSBC Passport when you are not in the UK, 14 days after you attend at your UK branch to complete all necessary formalities, or if you are already in the UK when you apply for HSBC Passport, 14 days after the date we opened your account.
In both of these situations, there will be no charge.
If you choose to cancel HSBC Passport within the cancellation period you must return all items provided to you under the HSBC Passport Service in new and unused condition.
After the 14 day cancellation period, you will not be able to close HSBC Passport within the initial 6 month period and you will be required to make the monthly fees during this time.
