We're currently making improvements to our Online Banking service.

If you registered for Online Banking prior to the 17th December 2014 it's not possible for you to activate your existing Secure Key and you will need to re-start your registration.

If you registered for Online Banking after this date, please log on to Online Banking entering your username, memorable answer and your password, from here you will be prompted to activate your Secure Key.

We apologise for any inconvenience which this delay may cause. Once you are registered, we look forward to introducing you to Online Banking, including the exciting enhancements we're working on now.

The essentials

MyMoney

MyMoney comes in two parts MySavings and MyAccount, making it easy to start managing savings and spending money from age 7 to 17.

  • We have a savings account from the age of 7, and
  • A current account from the age of 11
 

Savings account

MySavings is a straightforward savings account if you are aged 7 to 17 and a UK resident. If you are over 11 we also have a MyAccount.

With MySavings you can:

  • Get a free money box when you open your account (ages 7-10)
  • open an account with as little as £10
  • earn interest on your savings every month
  • access your savings at any HSBC counter using your Cash Book

Under-11s need a parent or guardian's signature to take out or transfer more than £50.

Current account

MyAccount is a current account for children aged 11-17. It comes with a HSBC VISA debit card*.

 

HSBC Visa Debit Card

When you're 11, you can get an HSBC Visa debit card for your MyAccount*. Use your card to shop in stores, online or wherever you see the Visa logo. You can also take out money from any ATM up to £100 a day. You could get up to £100 cashback at outlets nationwide when you pay with your HSBC debit card. Only spend what you have

With MySavings and MyAccount you can only spend what you have in your account. It means you don't have to worry about going over your limit*1.

 

Online Banking

Mobile Banking

The additional services

SchoolBank

Schoolbank is a mini HSBC branch you can set up in your school, with pupils as the cashiers, sales advisors and managers. HSBC staff will help you learn the ropes.

*1 Very occasionally we may have no option but to allow a payment for more money than is in your MyAccount. If you are aware this has happened, please contact us.

1Debit Card: Some cash machine owners in the UK may charge you for withdrawals. This will be shown on screen with an option to cancel the withdrawal if you want.


2Using your Debit Card abroad: The exchange rate that applies to any foreign currency debit card payments (including cash withdrawals) is the wholesale market rate used by VISA applying on the day the conversion is made plus a Non-Sterling transaction fee, which is currently 2.75% of the applicable VISA wholesale rate. We will make the conversion and deduct the payment from your account once we receive details of the payment from VISA, at the latest the next working day. Details of the current wholesale market rates can be obtained by calling us on the usual telephone numbers, set out in the table before Section 1 of the General Terms.


Transaction fees: For non-Sterling (foreign currency) transactions we will charge a fee of 2.75% of the amount of the transaction, using your Debit Card to pay for goods and services abroad (eg in shops or restaurants). This fee will be shown as a separate line on your statement as a 'Non-Sterling Transaction Fee'.
