Your family

Your partner is covered if they live at home with you in a domestic relationship. Your unmarried, dependent children are also covered if they're accompanying you or your partner and they're under 18 years of age at the start of your trip (under 23 years of age if they're still in full-time education and they live with you outside term time). Children are also covered if they are travelling unaccompanied to visit and stay with close relatives for the duration of the trip.

Pre-existing conditions

If you, your partner, any dependent children or anyone else upon whom your travel plans may depend, e.g. a close relative, or travelling companion/business associate, has a pre-existing medical condition you should contact the HSBC Advance Medical Helpline on 0124 362 1405 prior to purchasing HSBC Advance. You will then be advised whether or not the pre-existing medical condition is covered by the Worldwide Travel Insurance. Please see page 4 of Your Travel Policy Summary and Policy Document (PDF) for full details.

For existing HSBC Advance customers who have not previously informed us of pre-existing medical conditions for you, your partner, any dependent children or anyone else upon whom your travel plans may depend, i.e. a close relative, or travelling companion/business associate; please contact us to check whether these conditions will be covered before booking your trip(s), or before you travel if you've already booked your trip(s).
