HSBC Online Banking activation
We're currently making improvements to our Online Banking service.
If you registered for Online Banking prior to the 17th December 2014 it's not possible for you to activate your existing Secure Key and you will need to re-start your registration.
If you registered for Online Banking after this date, please log on to Online Banking entering your username, memorable answer and your password, from here you will be prompted to activate your Secure Key.
We apologise for any inconvenience which this delay may cause. Once you are registered, we look forward to introducing you to Online Banking, including the exciting enhancements we're working on now.
Log on to the HSBC Mobile Banking app using your fingerprint
Your fingerprint is an excellent security device. No two are exactly the same and you've always got it with you.
And if you've got an iPhone* with Touch ID fingerprint sensor enabled, you can log on to the HSBC Mobile Banking app faster using your fingerprint - it's a simple and secure alternative to your Digital Secure Key.

How to enable Touch ID in 4 simple steps
- 1. Fingerprint In your iPhone Settings, make sure you've registered your fingerprints
- 2. Log on Now open the HSBC Mobile Banking app and enter your Digital Secure Key password
- 3. Enable Once in the HSBC Mobile Banking app, enable Touch ID from the Settings menu
- 4. Verify Scan your fingerprint for verification
Important security information
When you enable Touch ID log on, any fingerprint stored on your device, now or in the future, can be used to log on to the HSBC Mobile Banking app. You should only enable Touch ID if you're the only person who has registered fingerprints on your device.
