HSBC Online Banking activation

We're currently making improvements to our Online Banking service.

If you registered for Online Banking prior to the 17th December 2014 it's not possible for you to activate your existing Secure Key and you will need to re-start your registration.

If you registered for Online Banking after this date, please log on to Online Banking entering your username, memorable answer and your password, from here you will be prompted to activate your Secure Key.

We apologise for any inconvenience which this delay may cause. Once you are registered, we look forward to introducing you to Online Banking, including the exciting enhancements we're working on now.

If you notice a problem with your HSBC account, get in touch with us immediately.

  • I got a suspicious emailStop. Don't click on any links. Don't open any attachments. Just forward the email to - we'll investigate it.
  • I don't recognise a paymentCheck our hints and tips to help you identify why you might not recognise the payment. If you still don't recognise it, call us immediately on 03457 404 404 (Lines are open 8am to 8pm every day).
  • My card is missing or stolen If your card is lost, stolen or likely to be misused we provide 24-hour assistance.
    If your card(s) has been lost or stolen please Log on to Online Banking using your Secure Key and select "Report lost or stolen card". You will then be able place a temporary block on your card whilst you try and locate it, or report it lost or stolen and request a replacement.

    If you are not registered for Online Banking please phone our emergency line on 0800 085 2401 from the UK or +44 1442 422929* if you are overseas.

  • My card is damaged If your card is damaged, Log on to Online Banking and select the "Replace a damaged card" menu option. For more information, including other options to request a replacement card, see here.
