HSBC Online Banking activation

We're currently making improvements to our Online Banking service.

If you registered for Online Banking prior to the 17th December 2014 it's not possible for you to activate your existing Secure Key and you will need to re-start your registration.

If you registered for Online Banking after this date, please log on to Online Banking entering your username, memorable answer and your password, from here you will be prompted to activate your Secure Key.

We apologise for any inconvenience which this delay may cause. Once you are registered, we look forward to introducing you to Online Banking, including the exciting enhancements we're working on now.

HSBC Group Retail customers

If you already bank with HSBC in your country you can start the account application process for account opening in the UK via the International Banking Centre in your country please visit your country's website for guidance. There is a list of current accounts that you can apply for subject to you meeting the UK current account opening requirements.
In some circumstances you would need to provide proof of residency and valid VISA and identification documents acceptable to HSBC UK.

EU residents

If you are an EU resident you can apply for a current account. Subject to meeting our current account requirements. Proof of EU residential status and relevant in date identification documents.

Current accounts available

New customers to HSBC in the UK (No Group relationship)

If you are a new customer to HSBC (i.e. no existing relationship world wide) and moving to the UK you would need to Apply in branch or on the telephone when you arrive in the UK. There is a list of current account that you can apply for subject to you meeting the UK current account opening requirements. Current accounts available. In some circumstances you would need to provide proof of residency and valid VISA and identification documents acceptable to HSBC UK.
