HSBC Online Banking activation
We're currently making improvements to our Online Banking service.
If you registered for Online Banking prior to the 17th December 2014 it's not possible for you to activate your existing Secure Key and you will need to re-start your registration.
If you registered for Online Banking after this date, please log on to Online Banking entering your username, memorable answer and your password, from here you will be prompted to activate your Secure Key.
We apologise for any inconvenience which this delay may cause. Once you are registered, we look forward to introducing you to Online Banking, including the exciting enhancements we're working on now.
Maximise your security online
Enjoy extra peace of mind with free anti-virus and IBM Trusteer Rapport security software.
We strongly recommend that you install IBM Trusteer Rapport security software.
IBM Trusteer Rapport adds valuable security when you log on to HSBC Personal Internet Banking. It checks that you are using the real HSBC website and not a fake. It locks down the link between you and the bank so that fraudsters can't listen in. Finally, it blocks all known viruses that target online banking.
IBM Trusteer Rapport doesn't replace your Personal Internet Banking security details or other protection such as anti-virus software. It works with them to add extra security. It only takes a few minutes to install the software and there is no need to restart your computer.
For more information about how IBM Trusteer Rapport works, for technical support and system requirements, visit IBM Trusteer.*Download IBM Trusteer Rapport Software

Microsoft Security Essentials
Download Microsoft Security Essentials for free anti-virus protection.
Microsoft Security Essentials helps provide real-time protection for your home PC that guards against viruses and other malicious software. It is simple to install, easy to use and always kept up to date. It's free to anyone with a genuine copy of Microsoft Windows*. It offers comprehensive malware protection with automatic updates and it comes from one of the world's largest IT companies.Download Microsoft Essentials This link will open in a new browser window
Modern, up-to-date browser software helps protect you against online problems.
You use a web browser to look at websites. It's the doorway to the internet. Examples include Microsoft Internet Explorer This link will open in a new browser window, Google Chrome This link will open in a new browser window, Apple Safari This link will open in a new browser window or the software that is showing you this page now is your current web browser.
Just like any other software, it makes sense to use the latest, most secure web browser. The latest browsers have security features that block fake websites and protect against some viruses (but you still need anti-virus and Rapport for advanced protection).
If you have updated your computer regularly or bought it in the last couple of years, it is likely that you are already using an up-to-date browser. You can check by selecting 'About' on the browser menu. If this is not the case, you may want to get new browser software immediately and update it regularly for maximum protection.
