As a Jade client you will receive:

  • priority consideration over unsecured lending needs managed by our lending specialist team
  • exclusive access to Personal Loans up to £250,0001


Jade clients can receive a representative 3.3% APR for loans between £50,001 and £250,000.

  • Monthly repayment: £1,332.64
  • Total amount payable: £111,941.76

Enhanced level of Worldwide Travel Insurance

HSBC Jade comes with complimentary travel insurance with extended cover until you reach age 80. Other Jade member exclusive Worldwide Travel Insurance benefits include:

  • cover for cancellation and curtailment up to £10,000 (increased from £7,500)
  • baggage and Personal belongings cover up to £5,000 (increased from £2,500)
  • cover for children2 when travelling independently from the account holder

Worldwide Travel Insurance is provided by Aviva Insurance Limited.


To be eligible you must be under the age of 80 on the start date of your trip and be a UK, resident. To make a medical claim you must be registered with a doctor in the UK. 


Pre-existing medical conditions


We’re unable to offer cover for certain medical conditions on this product. You may be able to get cover for these from a specialist insurer. The Money and Pensions Service has a list of these insurers – you can check its travel directory or call 0800 1387 777. Please note, you may not be able to find cover for undiagnosed symptoms and you may need to wait until you have a diagnosis before getting cover elsewhere.

Information for Jade customers planning to visit the EU after Brexit


Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) advice in relation to coronavirus is regularly reviewed and may affect cover provided by HSBC Jade Travel Insurance. If there are any travel restrictions in place at the time of booking a trip or opening this account (whichever is the later), there will be no cancellation or abandonment cover.

Our highest* interest-free overdraft

  • With no overdraft interest on the first £1000 of your arranged overdraft limit and 39.9% EAR (variable) for any overdraft borrowing above the first £1000
  • A specialist team will manage your overdraft requests over £25,000 as a priority request over all other HSBC customers

*Highest overdraft interest-free amount compared to customers holding a HSBC Premier Bank Account, HSBC Advance Bank Account, HSBC Bank Account or an HSBC Bank Account Pay Monthly.

0% EAR (variable) on the first £1,000, 39.9% EAR (variable) on anything above that, giving a representative rate of 5.8% APR (variable).


EAR is the effective annual rate


APR (Annual Percentage Rate) is the rate at which someone who is borrowing money is charged, calculated over a period of 12 months. It takes into account not just the interest, but also any other charges that may have to be paid and any interest-free amount.


Credit subject to status


Monthly cap on overdraft interest:

  1. Each current account will set a monthly maximum charge for: 
    • going overdrawn when you have not arranged an overdraft; or
    • going over/past your arranged overdraft limit (if you have one)
  2. This cap covers any: 
    • interest for going over/past your arranged overdraft limit;
    • fees for each payment your bank allows despite lack of funds; and
    • fees for each payment your bank refuses due to lack of funds

The monthly cap on unarranged overdraft charges for the HSBC Jade Bank Account is £20.

For HSBC Jade we may agree a high unarranged overdraft balance at your request to ensure larger payments are made.

  • The introduction of the Monthly Maximum Charge will not affect any charging period that ended prior to 1st August 2017. Any notification of charges that are generated on or after 1st August 2017 will incorporate the new Monthly Maximum Charge cap

Refund of the annual fee on our HSBC Premier World Elite™ MasterCard

Complimentary choice of home survey when purchasing a high value home insurance policy

When Jade clients purchase an Aviva Distinct home insurance policy which has been selected by HSBC then they will receive a complimentary survey to confirm the rebuild value of your building or the value of your general contents.

  • The buildings valuation survey conducted by Barratt Corp Harrington (BCH) which includes listed buildings or properties of unusual construction
  • The contents survey provides valuations for antiques, fine art or items requiring specialist valuation. This is undertaken by Quastel Associates
