Sorry, but we're no longer selling new Student Insurance policies. Existing Student Insurance policy holders are unaffected.
Why not check out our multi-cover insurance Select and Cover instead? It could still leave you protected and may be right for you. Select and Cover offers 7 different types of insurance cover, and you'll need to choose a minimum of 3 out of the 7 types.
If your parents or guardians are thinking about buying insurance for you while you’re at university, you might want to tell them about Select and Cover. As a student, if you buy Select and Cover, you get cover just for you. However, if you live with them at the same address outside term time and they decide to take out a policy, some of this will cover you while you‘re away at university (or until you turn 23). For the same price, it will also cover any siblings (under the age of 18) who are still at home.
To apply for Select and Cover, you must be:
- an HSBC UK customer with a bank, savings, mortgage or credit card account
- registered for online banking
HSBC UK Bank plc acts as an insurance intermediary for Select and Cover. Motor Insurance is underwritten by RAC. Starter Life insurance is underwritten by HSBC Life (UK) Limited. All other Select and Cover options are underwritten by Aviva Insurance Limited.
